Managing a physician's office requires a wide range of skills, and this course covers the competencies required, including effective patient flow, revenue cycle management, compliance regulations, human resources, health information, and general business processes.
Upon completion of this medical office manager course, you will be ready to take the Certified Physician Practice Manager (CPPM) exam, offered by the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA), and the Certified Electronic Health Records Specialist (CEHRS) national certification exams offered by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA). You will receive study guide materials, practice exams, AAPC membership, and a voucher for each exam.

Employers generally prefer that applicants possess 1-3 years of experience in a medical office setting and 1-2 years of management experience. What is the CPPM certification?
According to the American Academy of Professional Coders (AAPC), the Certified Physician Practice Manager (CPPM) is a logical next step for individuals with a lot of experience in many areas of healthcare, and who are ready to advance their careers into a physician practice management position. Experienced practice managers will benefit from the broadened skillset and validation of their knowledge and expertise in this profession.
The CPPM exam contains 135 multiple-choice questions (proctored). You have four hours to finish the exam. Whether you take the exam online or in person, you must answer 70% of the questions correctly to pass.

Prerequisites and Certification Requirements
There are no prerequisites to take this course. A minimum of two years of healthcare experience is strongly recommended. Additionally, in order to sit for national certification exams, candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Certification exams offered by AAPC and NHA are only available online to candidates located in the U.S.
